That is what I explore in this article. I organised a kind of Kahoot creation tournament with various groups. It was a way of taking things to the next level.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a previous article, I shared some observations on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"the different levels of learning in training\" href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2019\/11\/18\/de-lapprentissage-individuel-a-la-collaboration\/\" target=\"_blank\">the different levels of learning in training<\/a>. But learners love it. However, it  will not focus on Kahoot quizzes already created by the trainer or teacher. Instead, learners will work in groups to develop their own Kahoot quiz and test it on the opposing team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-les-differentes-etapes-du-processus\">The various trial stages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Obviously, it wasn' t about  sending learners out on this adventure alone, without any guidance. For our learners, however, it's often a nightmare. To better understand, watch an episode of Jeopardy and you'll quickly understand...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube In some multiple-choice tests I've seen on the web, you didn't necessarily need to know the answers to get them right: a little logic was enough. So these questions and answers don't measure comprehension or retention, but rather your learners' reasoning skills? Is that what you wanted to measure? Really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-giphy wp-block-embed-giphy\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/K64409MbT84rm\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/K64409MbT84rm<\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-e-choisir-les-images-de-votre-kahoot\">e) Choosing the images of your Kahoot<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Images are such a really important part of your Kahoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They contribute to the visual and playful aspect of the whole. They must be chosen carefully by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>by eventually providing an index about the answer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>without giving the answer( it may happen...)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>by providing an illustration very close to the intended concept<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It's not as straightforward as one might think, and Kahoot's suggestions can sometimes be perplexing...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-g-assembler-le-tout\">g) Assemble everything<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Normally everything could be done at the same time, especially if you have a little experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But for my learners, I divided everything into steps. So, I asked them to write the questions and answers on a sheet of paper, in small groups. Still in small groups, I asked them to choose the images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was only afterwards, after I had reviewed the content of their work with them, that they began to publish it online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-h-tester-verifier-reformuler\">h) Testing, checking, rephrasing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last step before the actual game: trying out the test with the other participants in the subgroup. Correcting any typing errors, rephrasing any unclear questions, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-tournoi-kahoot-proprement-dit\">The Kahoot tournament itself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When both subgroups are ready and the tests have been carried out, I bring them together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One team invites the other to play their Kahoot. They have chosen the present indicative conjugation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both teams will actually play in Team mode. Participants therefore play in teams rather than individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-coblocks-gif\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/media4.giphy.com\/media\/100PgquHm9j3sQ\/giphy.gif?ssl=1\" alt=\"Un groupe d'hommes qui sautent de joie\" \/><figcaption>The co-creation with joy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I ask them to explain to the other group why it is not the correct answer if that is the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, the other team tests their Kahoot game in the same way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, after the tournament, we organise a debriefing session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What did they do?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What difficulties did they face?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What did they learn?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are they proud of their work? Why?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-resume-de-la-demarche-pedagogique-de-co-creation\">Summary of the co-creation teaching approach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Initially, I address all learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I present the material using a timeline. They listen, some take notes. They consult the mind map on the questions (CQQCOQP) that I have given them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, I divide them into two subgroups: I try to ensure that the two subgroups are balanced, with both \u201cstrong\u201d and \u201cless strong\u201d players in each group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I ask them to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>define the subject of their Kahoot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to draft the questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to draft the replies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to choose the images<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>d&rsquo;assembler le tout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ils sont dans la <strong>collaboration<\/strong> and the <strong>co-cr\u00e9ation<\/strong>.  Chacun y va de sa correction, de sa suggestion, de sa critique.  Les questions s&rsquo;\u00e9laborent ensemble et les r\u00e9ponses donnent lieu  parfois \u00e0 des d\u00e9bats mouvement\u00e9s.  Les participants v\u00e9rifient eux-m\u00eames leurs r\u00e9ponses, ils recherchent dans les tables de conjugaison ou dans la grammaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lorsque les Kahoot sont pr\u00eats, on entre en <strong>comp\u00e9tition<\/strong>.  Les participants ne plaisantent pas : ils veulent gagner.  Certains sont m\u00eames tent\u00e9s de tricher&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enfin, les Kahoot sont termin\u00e9s.  Une \u00e9quipe a gagn\u00e9 les deux jeux, ce qui signifie que l&rsquo;autre a perdu m\u00eame \u00e0 son propre jeu&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>D\u00e9briefing<\/strong>, les participants s&rsquo;expriment :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>sur leur ressenti, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sur ce qui s&rsquo;est pass\u00e9, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sur ce qu&rsquo;ils ont appris.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On est dans l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation et l&rsquo;auto-\u00e9valuation, deux comp\u00e9tences parmi les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es de la taxonomie de Bloom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conclusion-tendre-vers-la-co-creation-avec-vos-apprenants\">Conclusion &#8211; tendre vers la co-cr\u00e9ation avec vos apprenants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avec des applications comme Kahoot, il est facile de s&rsquo;endormir.  Je veux dire par l\u00e0 que ces applications ludiques sont tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ci\u00e9es des participants.  Qu&rsquo;ils en redemandent, alors qu&rsquo;en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les s\u00e9ances d&rsquo;interrogation ne suscitent au mieux que l&rsquo;indiff\u00e9rence ou la mauvaise humeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les formateurs peuvent donc \u00eatre tent\u00e9s de \u00ab\u00a0servir\u00a0\u00bb aux apprenants ce dont ils ont envie.  C&rsquo;est un moyen facile de rassembler tout le monde autour d&rsquo;une activit\u00e9 p\u00e9dagogique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais, dans l&rsquo;apprentissage des langues comme ailleurs, s&rsquo;arr\u00eater \u00e0 ce type d&rsquo;activit\u00e9, c&rsquo;est se condamner \u00e0 ne pas apprendre grand chose&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avec un peu d&rsquo;imagination, on peut passer \u00e0 un niveau sup\u00e9rieur de collaboration, de co-cr\u00e9ation et d&rsquo;activit\u00e9s r\u00e9ellements participatives des apprenants.  Les apprenants doivent alors faire preuve de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9, de capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;analyse, de coop\u00e9ration, de comp\u00e9tition, d&rsquo;auto-\u00e9valuation&#8230;  Ce qui enrichit singuli\u00e8rement une simple activit\u00e9 de test&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mais, ce n&rsquo;est pas la technologie qui donne cette dimension suppl\u00e9mentaire aux apprentissage, mais bien l&rsquo;utilisation p\u00e9dagogique des formateurs et des enseignants&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Did you enjoy this article?
