Here's one of my experiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-post-time-to-read\">2\u20133 minutes<\/div>\n\n\n<nav aria-label=\"Table of Contents\" class=\"wp-block-table-of-contents\"><ol><li><a class=\"wp-block-table-of-contents__entry\" href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2025\/05\/27\/new-scam-whatsapp-on-the-lms\/#la-nouvelle-arnaque-whatsapp-cible-les-lms\">New WhatsApp scam targets LMSs<\/a><ol><li><a class=\"wp-block-table-of-contents__entry\" href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2025\/05\/27\/new-scam-whatsapp-on-the-lms\/#comment-les-reperer\">How do you spot them?<\/a><\/li><\/ol><\/li><li><a class=\"wp-block-table-of-contents__entry\" href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2025\/05\/27\/new-scam-whatsapp-on-the-lms\/#signaler-la-nouvelle-arnaque-whatsapp-pour-l-arreter\">Report new WhatsApp scam to stop it<\/a><\/li><li><a class=\"wp-block-table-of-contents__entry\" href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2025\/05\/27\/new-scam-whatsapp-on-the-lms\/#ne-laissez-pas-saboter-les-formations-en-ligne\">Don't let online training be sabotaged<\/a><\/li><\/ol><\/nav>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The web offers many reasons to celebrate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meeting interesting people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distance learning possibilities <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Free educational resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online shopping <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Etc <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But, as elsewhere, the Web also attracts its share of thieves, swindlers and other con artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are few places where you'll find such promises as on the Web:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>immediate wealth:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the meeting of your life <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or the practically free car.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"la-nouvelle-arnaque-whatsapp-cible-les-lms\">New WhatsApp scam targets LMSs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I appreciate training via WhatsApp, and in the past <a href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2024\/12\/09\/du-microlearning-sur-whatsapp\/\">reported in this article<\/a>. I particularly enjoy talking to other learners in the comments. And that's exactly where the scammers place their hooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As can be seen here, teachers and presenters also respond to comments from participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the scammers have to do is pretend to be in-house instructors and invite you to take a WhatsApp course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, they have nothing to do with FutureLearn and some of them don't offer you online or smartphone courses, but try to steal your private data, such as bank details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"comment-les-reperer\">How do you spot them?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike the real FutureLearn facilitators, their role (in this case, \"Lead Educator\") appears in a box next to their name. The hustlers' roles are not. I almost fell into the trap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"signaler-la-nouvelle-arnaque-whatsapp-pour-l-arreter\">Report new WhatsApp scam to stop it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 32%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How do you stop this new WhatsApp scam? By reporting it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under each comment, on the right-hand side, is a small flag. Simply click on this flag to report a suspicious comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be examined by the FutureLearn teams. class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don't give in to the temptation to sign up for any offer that wasn't described in the course description by the platform manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If in doubt, contact your course manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otherwise, report the comment as false, impersonated, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
