There are, of course, several methods. But today, I\u2019d like to suggest a simple, tried-and-tested method: the chapter summary. I\u2019ve already suggested a few of them in this <a href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2012\/06\/11\/etudier-efficacement-reutiliser-la-matiere\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"4279\">very old article<\/a> or in this one <a href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/2014\/07\/30\/comment-tout-memoriser-rapidement-avec-les-repetitions-espacees-2\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"36257\">on spaced repetition<\/a>. However, there is one that is very easy to put into practice. And it can be used both in the classroom and online: <strong>that of the chapter or module summary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"resumez-les-notions-cles-de-votre-chapitre-ou-module\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summarise the key concepts in your chapter or module<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This method is by no means revolutionary: I\u2019m sure you\u2019re already using it intuitively. Simply by repeating the main ideas of your lesson at the end of the lesson or module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What I\u2019m suggesting is simply that you organise these ideas so that your learners can revisit them whenever they wish:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>when they are revising their lessons at home<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>when they are preparing for an exam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>when they are revising the lesson in preparation for an assignment or a class test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-coblocks-click-to-tweet\"><p class=\"wp-block-coblocks-click-to-tweet__text\">The principle is very simple: at the end of each chapter, summarise the key concepts you have just covered.<\/p><a class=\"wp-block-coblocks-click-to-tweet__twitter-btn\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/share?&amp;text=Le%20principe%20est%20tr%C3%A8s%20simple%20%3A%20en%20fin%20de%20chapitre%2C%20proposez%20les%20notions-cl%C3%A9s%20que%20vous%20venez%20d'aborder.&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fformat30.com%2Fen%2F2026%2F08%2F17%2Fcomment-fixer-les-notions-dans-la-memoire-de-vos-participants%2F\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Tweet<\/a><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"fixer-les-notions-dans-la-memoire-de-vos-participants-avec-une-infographie\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Help your students commit key concepts to memory with an infographic.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For our <a href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/cours-gratuits-ressources-educatives-libres\/#h-mooc-dys\">MOOC on learning difficulties<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/format30.com\/en\/cours-gratuits-ressources-educatives-libres\/#h-mooc-dimpa\">Dimpa, on new publishing technologies<\/a>, we have used infographics to summarise each of our chapters or modules. These infographics, created using templates from Canva for Work, don\u2019t take too long to produce. <strong>And they combine text and images to help you remember things better. It\u2019s the same principle as with mind maps<\/strong>. Then bring everyone\u2019s work together. And let them vote for the best infographic. This could become a regular feature of your course. It\u2019s a dynamic way to get your students to revise without it seeming too much like revision.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"fixer-les-notions-dans-la-memoire-a-l-aide-d-une-carte-mentale\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consolidating concepts in your memory using a mind map<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you do not have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/education\/\">Canva for Education<\/a> or if there isn\u2019t a strong enough Wi-Fi connection, ask your pupils to create an infographic by hand. Or a mind map that summarises the lesson in the same way.
