Turning your presentation into a video is child's play with Canva's new feature. In just a few clicks, record yourself in sync with your presentation. And share it all on social networks.
If, like me, you regularly use Canva to create your presentations, you're going to love this new feature: Present - Register.
Canva is an online application that I've already had the opportunity to talk about on this blog, in connection with the publication planner or the presentation in vertical format, particularly useful for microlearning.
Present and comment in sync
This new Canva feature allows you to record :
- slide scrolling
- your voice (commentary)
- your face in a medallion inlaid in the presentation
When your presentation is ready, click on Present Register as shown below:

Turn your presentation into a video with the Canva recording studio
This gives you access to a real recording studio.
You can then :
- configure your camera (webcam or other)
- select your microphone
- use the scroll bar below the presentation to choose the starting slide for your recording

Turn your presentation into an MP4 video
Here's the result of this recording in MP4 format, which I've replayed on YouTube.
To export your recording in MP4 format, It couldn't be simpler:
Click again on the command Present Register.
This now gives you the choice between a sharing link or downloading. Click on this second option to download the recording of your presentation in MP4 format.
Attention Depending on the length of your presentation, this may take some time...
Settings and chaptering with the share link

The share link lets you distribute your video without going through a host such as YouTube or Vimeo.
The video opens in the browser of the person who receives the link.
Click this link to see the presentation in Canva format with chaptering.
This allows you to view the different slides from the dots at the bottom of the screen.
You can navigate through the video using these dots or by clicking on the left and right arrows below the presentation.
You can also adjust the sound volume and scrolling speed of your video.
Conclusion: another useful feature for Canva
Even if the Present Register is still in Beta version, but it looks promising.
You no longer need to use an external application to turn your presentation into a video. It's all done internally. And very simply.
For the moment, Canva doesn't offer any advanced features (for sound or images), but a very simple tool that anyone can use to make effective video presentations that are easy to share.
