How did I join the Erasmus+ programme?
My Erasmus stay in Belgium is a programme presented by the Vallée de Cailly high school in Déville les Rouen as part of my schooling, I had to do international assignments, acquire new skills and to get a better idea of how different companies work through a two-month work placement.
What is Erasmus+?
Created in 1987, Erasmus promotes cooperation between prestigious universities and schools around the world.
Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
Its budget is estimated at 26.2 billion euros. Its funding has almost doubled compared with the previous programme (2014-2020, which was worth €14.7 billion).
What does the Erasmus programme support?
It supports the priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, the Digital Education Action Plan and the Skills Strategy for Europe. In addition, Erasmus+:
- supports the European set of social rights;
- implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027;
- develops the European sport dimension
In particular, it has co-financed the following projects MOOC Dys and MOOC DIMPA to which Formation 3.0 contributed.
My Erasmus mobility trip: To Belgium!

My name is Azeez, I'm a student in BTS Support à l'Action Managériale (SAM) (advanced vocational diploma in management support) in Vallée du Cailly high school in Déville-lès-Rouen. Cette année, j’ai l’opportunité de vivre une expérience enrichissante : un séjour Erasmus de deux mois en Belgique, dans le cadre d’un stage professionnel à l’international.
Why this blog?
I decided to create this blog post to share my career path, my discovery and the skills that I will develop during this mobility. It's aimed at my family, my friends and other students who are interested in the Erasmus experience or the BTS SAM.
Preparations before departure
Before even packing my suitcase for Belgium, I had to go through several stages
- submit my Erasmus application
- prepare my CV and covering letter
- pass an interview, then complete a full administrative file.
Thanks to the support of my school and the Erasmus team, everything went smoothly. This process made me aware of the importance of organisation.
International experience
I'm going to Belgium for two months, working for a professional organisation where I'll be taking part in various administrative, management and communication tasks. It's an ideal opportunity to put into practice the skills I've learnt in class, while discovering another working environment and culture, and becoming more independent.
To be continued...
I'll be posting regularly on this blog:
- The progress of my assignments,
- My impressions of life in Belgium,
