I tried Flexclip, a new “toolbox” application for creating a wide range of media using AI. With Flexclip, you can create videos, images, audio files, text, and more in just a few clicks. I'll show you some examples in this article.
Flexclip: multiple tools in a single online application
Like me, you often waste time trying to find the right AI tool for:
- convert text to audio
- create a video from an image
- to extract an avatar from a photograph
- to create a video for social media
- etc.
Often, a tool can do one thing but not the other. Or it can do both, but with mediocre performance.
I had the opportunity to test (and have others test) a tool that works a bit like a Swiss Army knife of artificial intelligence: Flexclip. It brings together a host of tools for creating the media you need, both for teaching and communicating.
Quelques outils Flexclip que nous avons testés pour vous
With our two interns, Azeez Hassan and Ralston WrightWe tested several AI tools.
Video content for your social media channels
Videos for social media can often be a headache: each platform has its own format, and it can be time-consuming to re-edit each video to get the right format. Not with Flexclip. Ralston created this video from a template and added sound. He then integrated the image from our Active Pedagogy newsletter. This video was part of a promotional campaign for the English version of our newsletter, Active Pedagogy.
Square format for LinkedIn
Vertical format for Pinterest
As you can see, the videos are identical, except for the square format suitable for LinkedIn in the first case and the vertical format for Pinterest in the second. It only takes a few clicks in the video editor to switch from one format to another and then export it to MP4 (from 480p to 4k), GIF or even just audio in MP3 format.
Flexclip's video editor is very similar to Canva's, with the timeline at the bottom. It took our intern no fewer than six different media files, including images and sound, to create this video.

A synthetic voice for our presentation
For the last slide of a presentation given to a group of Spanish teachers, I wanted my robot (image created with AI in Canva) to have a warm female voice.
I used one of Flexclip's synthetic voices and the result is quite convincing. What do you think? It's text-to-speech. I was able to choose a female voice, of course, but also the type of emotion it should convey, and I selected a rather cheerful tone. Click on the ‘start’ button on the sound file to hear the voice.
Turn a photo into an avatar with Flexclip
I also wanted to use AI, not to create educational media, but just for fun. So I asked Flexclip to turn one of my recent photos into a 3D avatar. My wife says it doesn't look like me. Personally, I don't really like the fact that it adds a few extra pounds. What do you think?

AI video script on the water cycle automatically generated by Flexclip
Finally, the last tool I tested was video script generation.
I asked them to write the script for a video about the water cycle in English. And the result is quite impressive. You can download the English version, translated with DeepL, an AI-assisted translation software that I often use for my own work, particularly on this website.
Flexclip, a Swiss Army knife for AI-assisted multimedia creation
As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, one of the challenges of artificial intelligence-assisted multimedia creation is the multitude of tools that need to be used.
With Flexclip, we have a real Swiss Army knife at our disposal: whether it's designing a video, generating a warm voice, editing a photo or translating a text in a matter of seconds, this solution assists us in a multitude of creative processes.
At £19.99 per month (annual subscription), it is relatively inexpensive and quite affordable, even for a small organisation.
